We had a client in Fort Worth, TX, reach out to us to upgrade their landscape. They had a large landscape bed in the middle of their driveway and a circular one around a tree in their yard, both overgrown with vegetation and without a purposeful design. So, we began this landscaping project by prepping the areas, which involved removing everything, leveling out the land, installing edging, and adding new soil. After that, we incorporated all the elements, like edging out the little half-circle area of the large landscape bed for a bench, laying a weed barrier, and installing rocks and plants. Our client now has clearly defined landscape beds full of eye-catching plants that elevate their property's curb appeal, plus a bench to sit and enjoy them!

This Landscaping Project Started With an Extensive Prep Process

Extensive prep work was involved for this project, as both landscape beds we planned to renovate needed to be started from scratch. The first step of the process was to remove everything, like existing plants and dirt, the wood plank edging around the larger landscape bed in the driveway, and the stones around the one in the yard. Next, we had to level out the land and fill low points with dirt to create a smooth, even foundation.

Following that, we installed sleek stone edging around both landscape beds to define their shape and keep them separate from their surroundings. Then, we filled them with soil, spreading it evenly throughout in preparation for the new plants we planned to install.

We Installed a Designated Sitting Area, Rocks & Plants in Our Client's Landscape Beds

Once all the preparation for our client's landscaping project was complete, we shifted to the installation of all the elements. We edged out a little half-circle area for the landscape bed in the driveway to put a bench where they can sit and spend time outside. After that, we laid a weed barrier in this section to prevent weed growth before installing rocks, which we meticulously raked out to ensure even coverage. Then, we separated it from the driveway with larger stones to create a distinctive border.

The final step of this project was to add all the plants! Our team brought new plants of all different types to both landscape beds, strategically placing them to create a purposeful, cohesive design. They ranged from big to small, some with smooth, tropical foliage and others with charming flowers for pops of color. Today, our client enjoys an elevated curb appeal from the defined, thoughtfully planned landscape beds and stunning plants that fill them, plus a designated spot for admiring everything.
